China Classification Society said that based on the latest scientific research results, on the basis of the "Inland green Ship Code" 2020, the specification has been upgraded and replaced, forming the "Inland Green Ship Code" 2023.

The main revisions of this revision are as follows:
The energy efficiency design index baselines for the three major ship types (dry, container, and liquid) have been adjusted to align with the corresponding values in the upcoming regulations, and the energy efficiency values have been graded.
The calculation method of green ship additional mark grade of pure battery powered ship is added to provide relevant basis for drawing examination.
The hazardous substances control requirements for ships are amended to include the requirement that ships prohibit anti-fouling systems containing Cybutryne.
Based on relevant research, the calculation method of clean energy substitution ratio for hybrid electric ships is revised.
The relevant additional marks have been adjusted.

The Code 2023 for Green Vessels in Inland Waterways will come into force on 1 May 2023, replacing the CCS Code 2020 for Green Vessels in Inland Waterways.
