China led the world in new ship orders in November, with South Korea in second place

Yonhap News on December 6, the British shipbuilding and maritime industry analysis institution Clarksons Research (Clarksons Research) released a report on the 6th, in November, the global new ship order volume was 2.86 million revised gross tons, of which South Korean ship companies to undertake 1.08 million revised gross tons (18 ships), accounting for 38%, ranking second in the world. Chinese shipping enterprises undertook 1.56 million revised gross tons (46 ships), accounting for 55% of the total.

The cumulative new ship orders in the first 11 months of this year amounted to 39.11 million revised gross tons (1,238 ships), of which South Korean ship companies accounted for 40%, 15.75 million revised gross tons (279 ships). Chinese shipping companies accounted for 47%, with a revised gross tonnage of 184.8 million (651 vessels).

As of the end of November, the total global order backlog was 107.19 million revised gross tonnes, led by China with 46.99 million revised gross tonnes (44%), followed by South Korea with 37.42 million revised gross tonnes (35%).
