CCS said, in order to adapt to the development of Marine industry and offshore structure fatigue strength at the same time for security to provide technical support, combined with the ocean engineering structure fatigue strength assessment of the latest progress in the study of technology, CCS for the ocean engineering structure fatigue strength assessment guide (2013) carried on the revision, and changed its name to the Marine engineering structure fatigue strength evaluation technology guide.

This guide is applicable to welded steel offshore structures, such as jacket platforms, mobile platforms, offshore floating production units, etc. Fatigue strength assessment for special types of Marine engineering structures and those with novel structures shall be separately considered and agreed by CCS.

This guide is divided into 9 chapters and 4 appendices, including s-N curve method of nominal stress, S-N curve method of hot spot stress and fracture mechanics method commonly used in Marine engineering. Adding rain flow counting method for time domain fatigue analysis; Add hot spot stress calculation of base metal and welded structure directly; The stress concentration coefficient of plate structure is revised. Based on the domestic experience in the development of fixed platform, the requirements for the application of simplified fatigue method in fixed platform are revised.
